Mykita Cherry-Prime is a devoted wife to Pierre Prime and proud mother of four sons: Jonathan, Pierre, Michael, and Yverson. She began her educational journey at Myrtle Grove Elementary, continued at Lake Stevens Middle School, and graduated from American Senior High School before earning her degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). A passionate educator, Mykita has proudly served as a teacher for over 10 years, dedicating her career to nurturing students and helping them achieve their full potential.
Mykita’s leadership is grounded in a lifelong commitment to service, education, and community empowerment. As Department Chair at Miami Norland Senior High and ESSAC Co-Chair, she has spearheaded initiatives that directly enhance student success and school improvement. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom—she serves as Committee Chairwoman for the Scholarship and Recruitment Committee of the FAMU National Alumni Association and as Chair of the Scholarship Committee for the Top Ladies of Distinction.
Committed to strengthening families and communities, Mykita is a board member of the Center for Family and Child Enrichment, supporting programs in mental health, foster care, and family wellness. She also contributed as a member of the Steering Committee for the Live Healthy Miami Gardens initiative, helping shape strategies that promote community health and well-being.
With more than a decade of experience in education and community service, Mykita brings the vision, relationships, and hands-on knowledge needed to serve in public office. She is ready to advocate for innovative, equitable, and responsive municipal services that empower youth, support families, and build a stronger, more vibrant community for all.
